We wanted to inform you that we will be modifying Iowa’s Ride to a weekend event that will take place in Eldora, Iowa on July 16-18, 2021.

We had several of our small community schools or city facilities that were still not comfortable opening their facilities needed for overnight camping throughout this upcoming summer.   Since we were mainly in smaller communities there were not many suitable options to safely camp other than school grounds or city parks.  Although we were able to secure some alternative locations, we ultimately decided to modify the event to a weekend event based out of Eldora, Iowa.

There are several multi-day summer rides throughout the country that have been modified in some way, while many have been completely canceled until the summer of 2022.

Iowa’s Ride Weekender will now take place in Eldora with camping and evening fun on Friday and Saturday (July 16-17).  There will be a designated 40-50 mile route on Saturday and several riding options to enjoy on Friday and Sunday.  In addition to great riding, relax while floating in a tube down the Iowa River and cool off at the city pool located in the main camping area at the Eldora Municipal Park.

If you were previously registered for the 2020 ride, there are no registration fees.   Visit the registration page for your free registration.  Your registration will help the organizers property plan for the weekend.

If you have friends that would now like to register, it is still a free entry, but we encourage them to make a donation to the Friends of Eldora Parks & Recreation. Visit the registration page to register.

Join us July 16-18, 2021 for IOWA’S RIDE Weekender in Eldora, Iowa!

If you are interested in RV campsites, these locations are open in Eldora for the summer.

IOWA’S RIDE UPDATE – 2021 RIDE (February 12, 2021)

Thank you for your patience during these crazy times.  We have been communicating with the Iowa’s Ride towns that look forward to hosting cyclists from all over the world.

Although they are excited to welcome riders to their communities, some have expressed safety concerns about riders staying overnight in the community and what facilities would be open to host riders to camp, shower, eat, etc.  Hosts were anticipating using a combination of schools, parks, fairgrounds, churches and private property and there is some uncertainty about how much acreage might be available to host visitors this summer.

We do not plan to open registration to additional riders until we can have a better idea what restrictions or limits might be in place this summer.

Everyone wants to ride and enjoy these great towns.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.
