Monticello – Sunday, July 12

Why Monticello?  Not to be missed; a respect for the historic treasures from our past, yet emboldened with entrepreneurship and innovation.  Upbeat, energetic, and always willing to welcome visitors and newcomers.  Attitude with ambiance … a must see!”

Monticello, a town of just 4,000 residents, is no stranger to hosting guests. Each July, the town welcomes 100,000 visitors during the “The Great Jones County Fair and Food Fest“. The fair is most known for high-end entertainment, great food, exhibits, and offers many opportunities to view 4-H activities and animals.  The 2020 dates for the fair are July 22-26, but you’ll find plenty to do any of the other 360 days of the year; whether touring Riverside Gardens, canoeing the Maquoketa River, hiking at Pictured Rocks Parks, or biking in and around the community, Monticello’s recreational opportunities are abundant.

The Main campground for riders in Monticello will be at the Monticello City Park and Jones County Fairgrounds, located just 6 blocks from downtown activities.

Also available is an “on-site” RV campground with 160 electric and water hookups. Call 319-465-3275 for more information and pre-registration. Entrance to RV campground is located at 1000 N Maple St, Monticello.
