Vinton – Monday, July 13

The City of Vinton just celebrated 150 years in 2019. This county seat community is home to over 20 chainsaw carvings, larger than life murals on the side of 11 buildings, and over a dozen giant fiberglass ears of corn. Many historic buildings can be found in Vinton, including historic homes, courthouse, train depot, and Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School.

Vinton is often mentioned in the writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder (author of Little House of the Prairie), as her older sister, Mary Ingalls, was a student at the Iowa College for the Blind (now the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School) in the early 1880s.

There will be plenty of camping for all registered riders in the designated campgrounds that is situated fairly close to the evening activities. These campsites will be listed in the future.
